Education is the Key to Change
A lean operation that achieves Operational Excellence cannot happen without a change in thinking at all levels in the organization. This change occurs through education. At Duggan Associates, we have created formal classroom training based on real life experiences. Classes are progressive and build upon each other to form a strong foundation of lean knowledge. Our case studies are based on real operations with real challenges. Our instructors provide insights into these challenges and how lean principles can overcome them.
While we do teach all the lean enablers such as setup reduction, 5S, and problem solving on site, our formal training begins with an in-depth class on Value Stream Mapping. We have written this class to focus on lean guidelines and methodology to build lean future states, along with a challenging case study to show their application in real life environments. Our training continues with Creating Mixed Model Value Streams, which teaches the process to build a mixed model pacemaker that flows a high mix of product to the customer.
We advance further with Creating Flow through Shared Resources, which is a subject that challenges many companies. This class covers the application of lean with monument equipment, and equipment that produces many different parts and cannot be dedicated to a single value streams.
We also teach these concepts for the office with our Business Process Value Streams class, as well as for the supply chain with our Creating flow through the Supply Chain class. None of our classes can be good; they all have to be great
We pride ourselves in teaching and we set a high standard for it. We have taught over 350 classes all over the globe and in many different languages. We offer classes in English, French, German, Spanish, and Dutch. Our instructors are fluent as many times these are their native languages. All of our instructors, no matter their location, are all trained with standard work. Our teaching is consistent. Our classes are very interactive. We provide exercises so teams can immediately apply the classroom training. We walk your shop floor and work with your products.
